Press Release dcFashionWeek to Showcase Full-Figure Models Who says thin is in? Full-figure models will be on prominent display as part of dcFashionWeek, a seriesof designer showcases to be held Sept. 13-19 at various locations throughout the Washington metropolitan area. "Americans, particularly women, have an unrealistic ideal of beauty," says designer and show producer EanWilliams. "True beauty comes from within and is measured not by weight or dress size, but rather by aperson's sense of self-confidence and style. The point is to make the most of what you've got, not try tomeasure up to someone else's standards." A partnership of independent fashion designers, producers and models, dcFashionWeek was created toincrease economic development in the area of fashion design, clothing merchandising and modeling, and toenhance the visibility of the nation’s capital as a center of international fashion. All of the events areopen to the public, but there is a $50 admission charge to the Grand and Final Show, which will be heldSunday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town Hotel, 1767 King Street, Alexandria, Va.
