Washington, DC - February 8, 2005 - DCFASHIONWEEK Inc, a not for profit corporation dedicated to promoting fashion in the nation's capital through education and exhibiting, will showcase 25 designers at some of DC's hottest night spots. The opening show will be held at the Hilton Old Town Alexandria hotel on Sunday, February 13 at
, and will be hosted by top radio personality Jeannie Jones of Radio One's WKYS.  A partnership of independent fashion designers, producers and models, DCFASHIONWEEK was created to increase economic development in the area of fashion design, clothing merchandising and modeling, and to enhance the visibility of the nation's capital as a center of international fashion.  DCFASHIONWEEK, only in its second year, is the largest fashion exhibition held in the District of Columbia , drawing over 10,000 patrons to see its shows.  The fashion industry and press are welcome.  All shows except SundayÂ’s couture collections  are free and open to the public, donations accepted.  DCFASHIONWEEK II debuts Sunday, February 13 with shows being held throughout the DC metropolitan area with the final show on Saturday, February 19, 2005 .  Find show details below.  For complete schedule, also visit www.dcfashionweek.net.

During DCFASHIONWEEK's inaugural presentation, DC Mayor Anthony Williams issued
September 3, 2004 , an official proclamation from his Policy and Current Events office, recognizing "DCFASHIONWEEK" in the District of Columbia .  DCFASHIONWEEK, held in September and February, will also launch its own magazine during DCFASHIONWEEK II with an initial distribution of 5,000.
