I began sewing and creating clothing for my Barbie Doll at the age of six. My mother and my grandmother designed and sewed their own clothing and would leave me the scraps of cloth to create with. I would design “Disco Bags” and sell them at school. I continued to design and create clothing throughout college but pursed a career in Graphic Design. Nevertheless, fashion has always been a passion—I began teaching Fashion Illustration at Howard University in 2008.
This reignited my interest in making clothing again—I began to photograph, illustrate and develop designs to create my digital fabrics—This is a signature aspect of my line.
My initial line of Tote Bags was created in 2010. I began expanding the line in 2012 to include clothing—a Resort and Tye Dye collection. The collection also includes a mix of eco-sustainable items that are created from recycled, vintage apparel and hand dyed fabrics. The fabric and clothing are inspired by nature and its amazing colors and movement
